Babes eyes fluttered open, trying to focus on the source of the annoying buzzing sound. As her vision cleared, she realized it was coming from her phone lying on the bedside table. Groaning in dismay, she sat up straight, the soft linen sheets slipping down her bare back. It was already past midnight, and she couldn't remember the last time she'd had a proper night's sleep.
Throwing off the sheets, she reached for her phone, anxious to see who could be so cruel as to disturb her slumber. Her heart sank as she read the message from Thay Flores, her best friend and partner in crime. "Babe, wake up! We have to go to the party," the message read.
Babe rolled her eyes, knowing Thay well enough to expect this kind of behavior. She'd dragged her there, knowing damn well she wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed and forget about the world. But alas, she loved Thay like a sister, and she'd be damned if she let her down.
With a deep sigh, Babe got up, stretching her limbs and yawning widely. She glanced over at the clock, wondering how she was going to pull off looking presentable after so little sleep. Thay, on the other hand, seemed to thrive on late nights and early mornings. She was always impeccably dressed, makeup perfectly applied, and hair styled to perfection.
Making her way downstairs, Babe could hear the faint sound of music coming from the living room. As she stepped through the doorway, she was hit with a wave of excitement. The room was decorated with streamers and balloons, a makeshift dance floor set up in the corner. Thay was already there, dressed in a slinky black dress that hugged her curves just right.
"About time you got here," Thay said, smirking. "I was starting to think you might actually sleep through this party."
Babe rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smile at her friend's antics. She knew better than to try and outdo Thay when it came to fashion or fun. Instead, she focused on finding something simple but chic to wear, something that would make her feel confident and ready to take on the night.
As the night wore on, the pair of them danced and mingled with their friends, laughing and enjoying themselves. Babe couldn't help but notice how often Thay's eyes would dart towards her, a smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but there was something different about Thay tonight.
It wasn't until they were heading home, stumbling towards their car, that Babe realized what it was. Thay was drunk, and not just a little bit tipsy. Her words were slurred, and she wobbled unsteadily on her feet. Babe knew they had to get her home safely, but she wasn't quite sure how.
"Thay, you've had too much to drink," Babe said, placing a steadying hand on her friend's shoulder. "We need to go home and sleep this off."
"Nonsense," Thay slurred, waving her hand dismissively. "I'm fine. Let's go back to your place and keep the party going."
Babe sighed, knowing there was no talking to Thay when she was in this state. They managed to make it to the car, Thay fumbling with the keys before finally getting the door open. Babe climbed into the passenger seat, buckling up as they pulled out of the parking lot.
The drive home was a blur of laughter and incoherent ramblings from Thay. Babe couldn't help but chuckle at her friend's antics, even as she worried about getting them both home safely. As they pulled up to Babe's house, Thay stumbled out of the car, nearly falling face-first into the grass.
Babe helped her to her feet, supporting her weight as they made their way towards the front door. Once inside, Babe led Thay to the couch, tucking her in and turning out the lights. As she made her way back to her room, she couldn't help but smile, content in the knowledge that she'd done her best to take care of her friend.
The next morning, Babe was woken up by the sound of farting. Confused and disoriented, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and sat up in bed, trying to figure out what was going on. That's when she realized Thay was sitting on the edge of her bed, staring at her with a mischievous grin.
"Good morning, sunshine," Thay said, letting out a loud, long fart. "Time to start the day."
Babe rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smile at her friend's antics. As she climbed out of bed, she knew this was going to be one hell of a day.
