The rain lashed against the windows of the small café, casting an eerie glow over the empty tables. As I sipped my coffee, I couldn't help but notice the woman who had just walked in. Her long, purple hair whipped around her face in the wind, and she tried to hold onto her umbrella while fumbling with her jacket. I couldn't help but feel sorry for her as she struggled against the elements.
Just then, the door swung open again, letting in a blast of cold air that sent shivers down my spine. This time, a tall man in a dark trench coat stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room before locking onto the woman by the door. There was something predatory about his stride, something that sent a shiver down my back.
As he approached the woman, I couldn't help but lean forward, wanting to know what would happen next. She seemed unaware of his presence, lost in her thoughts as she shivered from the cold. He spoke softly to her, his voice a low rumble that vibrated in the air around them. She glanced up at him, her eyes wide with fear, before nodding slowly.
Before I knew it, they were gone, the door swinging shut behind them. I felt a sense of foreboding in the pit of my stomach, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from the door, waiting for their return.
When they finally reappeared, the woman was clutching her stomach, her face pale as death. The man's coat was ruffled, and there was a strange glint in his eyes that made me want to turn away. But I couldn't look away from them as they made their way to the counter to pay for their drinks.
As they turned to leave, I couldn't help but wonder what had happened between them. Whatever it was, it had left the woman looking broken and defeated. And the man... he looked like a predator who had just claimed his prey. I shuddered, feeling like I had just witnessed something terrible.
