It was a sweltering afternoon, and Lisa was on her way to her best friend Emily's house. She had been looking forward to their weekly movie night for days, but as she approached the house, she noticed something odd. The front door was slightly ajar, and there was a strange smell wafting through the air.
As she stepped inside, she saw Emily on the couch, eyes closed, seemingly asleep. But the smell was getting stronger. It was a putrid, noxious odor that seemed to seep into every corner of the room. Suddenly, Emily's eyes fluttered open, and she sat up, looking around in confusion.
"Emily, what's going on?" Lisa asked, trying not to gag on the smell. "The front door was open, and there's this horrible smell in here."
"I-I don't know," Emily stammered, sniffing the air. "I think I might have a gas leak or something."
Lisa's eyes widened in horror as she realized what was happening. Emily had accidentally left a can of gas in the living room, and it had started leaking. The smell was overpowering, and it was only getting worse.
"We need to get out of here," Lisa said, grabbing Emily's arm. "Now."
Together, they stumbled out of the house and into the fresh air. As soon as they were outside, the smell began to dissipate. Lisa helped Emily sit down on the front step, still gasping for breath.
"I'm so sorry, Lisa," Emily said, her face red with embarrassment. "I can't believe I did that."
Lisa sat next to her, trying to catch her breath. She couldn't believe what had just happened. They were both covered in sweat, and the air around them was filled with the acrid smell of gas.
Just then, they heard a car pull up behind them. They turned around to see a figure stepping out of the car, wearing a familiar hat.
"Hey there, ladies," the figure said with a smirk. "Need a third wheel for your little adventure?"
It was none other than Emily's older brother, who had recently returned home from college. He stepped forward, a sly grin on his face.
"What are you doing here?" Lisa demanded, standing up defensively. "This isn't funny."
"Oh, I don't know," he said, walking towards them. "I thought it might be kind of fun."
Lisa couldn't believe what was happening. Emily's house was a mess, they had just dealt with a gas leak, and now they had an uninvited guest. She felt her anger beginning to boil over.
"Listen, buddy," she said, stepping in front of Emily protectively. "If you're here for a show, you've got the wrong house."
The brother just laughed. "Oh, come on," he said, walking around Lisa. "Lighten up, would ya? It's just a little farting, right?"
Before Lisa could react, Emily let out a loud, embarrassing fart. It was the kind of fart that made everyone turn and look. And then, to Lisa's horror, Emily started laughing uncontrollably.
"I can't believe you did that," Lisa said, trying to keep her cool. "That's just cruel."
But Emily just kept laughing, her face red with embarrassment. And the brother just stood there, grinning from ear to ear.
"Aw, come on," he said, clapping his hands together. "It's not that bad. We all do it."
Lisa felt her face burning with anger and humiliation. She couldn't believe what was happening. Emily, her best friend, was turning into some sort of farting freak show, and there was nothing she could do about it.
"Look," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Just go home, okay? We really don't need your help right now."
But the brother just kept smirking. He took a step closer to them, enjoying the power trip. And then, without warning, he let out a fart that almost knocked Lisa off her feet.
"Whoa," he said, holding his stomach. "That was a good one."
Emily started laughing hysterically again, and Lisa felt like she was going to explode. She couldn't believe what was happening. These two idiots were having the time of their lives, while she was left to deal with the aftermath of their disaster.
"You know what?" Lisa said, turning around and walking back towards the house. "Forget this. I'm going inside to watch TV alone."
She didn't wait for a response, just walked back into the house and slammed the door behind her. She couldn't believe how humiliating this whole situation was, and how helpless she felt.
As she walked back into the living room, she could still smell the gas, but it was much weaker now. She collapsed onto the couch, trying to catch her breath. She couldn't believe what had just happened. All she wanted to do was hide under a rock and forget that any of this had ever happened.
