Babe walked to the entrance of her house, her mind filled with thoughts of what she would make for dinner. As she approached the door, she noticed a figure huddled against the wall, looking thoroughly disheveled and dirty.
"Excuse me," Babe called out gently, stopping to take a closer look. The figure raised its head, revealing a young woman in tattered clothing with hungry eyes. Babe's heart went out to her.
"Would you like something to eat?" she asked kindly.
Lauren's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't eaten properly in days and the thought of food was almost too much to bear. She nodded eagerly.
Babe led Lauren inside and showed her to a chair at her dirty kitchen table. She could see the woman's eyes widen in horror at the state of the surroundings.
"Don't worry, I'll clean this up," Babe assured her, smiling reassuringly. "In the meantime, why don't you take a shower? We have plenty of food here for both of us."
Lauren felt a wave of guilt wash over her. She hadn't bathed properly in days and she knew how disgusting she must smell. Still, she couldn't resist the offer of food and water, so she nodded gratefully and headed towards the bathroom.
While Lauren was gone, Babe busied herself preparing the meal. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt at the thought of feeding such a filthy person, but she pushed it aside, reminding herself that everyone deserved a meal and a chance to clean themselves up.
A few minutes later, Lauren emerged from the bathroom, looking much cleaner but still very thin and tired. Babe led her back to the kitchen table and served her a plate of steaming hot food. As they ate in silence, Babe couldn't help but notice how hungry Lauren was. She couldn't even hear her chewing; she was devouring the food like she hadn't eaten in days.
Suddenly, something didn't sit right with Babe. As she turned to get her soda, she felt a warm, rancid gust of air hit her face. She glanced down at her plate to see that Lauren had eaten her pastel. The smell was overwhelming, and Babe struggled to keep her breakfast down.
"What have you done?" she asked, her voice shaking with anger.
Lauren looked up at her, eyes wide with fear. "I'm sorry, I was so hungry," she stammered, her voice ragged from hunger. "Please don't hurt me."
Babe felt a wave of disgust wash over her. Not only had Lauren eaten her food without asking, but she had also farted on the table and wiped her nose on her clothes. Babe couldn't believe the level of filth this woman had sunk to.
In a fit of anger, Babe grabbed Lauren by the hair and lifted her off the table. She pushed her roughly against the wall, feeling the filth from her clothes seeping into her skin.
"You disgusting creature," she spat, her voice shaking with rage. "I can't believe you would do something so vile."
Lauren trembled in fear, her eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I didn't mean to."
Babe paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to calm her anger. She knew that this woman was not beyond redemption, but she also knew that she couldn't let her stay in her home like this.
"You're lucky I don't call the police," she said finally, her voice still shaking with rage. "Instead, I'm going to teach you a lesson you won't forget."
With that, Babe grabbed Lauren's arms and bound her tightly with plastic wrap from the kitchen cupboards. She watched as Lauren struggled futilely against the bindings, her fear turning to panic.
"Calm down," Babe said, her voice cold and hard. "This is for your own good."
And with that, she left Lauren to stew in her own filth, knowing that this was only the beginning of what was sure to be a long, difficult journey towards redemption.
