Fiona had spent the evening immersed in her study materials, determined to ace her upcoming exams. Her stomach, however, had other plans. She'd indulged in a hefty meal of turkey burgers earlier, and now her body was paying the price. Each time she shifted position, an audible rip would escape from her backside, causing her to wince in embarrassment.
Despite the uncomfortable situation, she couldn't help but feel a pang of amusement every time she let one out. It was almost like a secret pleasure, knowing that she was the only one who could hear the symphony of farts echoing around her quiet study space.
Her amusement was short-lived, however, when she heard footsteps approaching. Panic set in as she realized someone else was in the library with her. Quickly, she tried to muffle the sound with her hands, but it was too late. The person entered the room, and she could feel their gaze on her.
"Um, hi," she murmured, trying to act casual despite the cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "Is there something I can help you find?"
The other person stood there, frozen in place, their eyes wide with shock. For a moment, Fiona thought they might have seen her fart. But then, to her relief, they burst out laughing.
"No, no, I'm good," they said, still chuckling. "I just saw the funniest thing on my phone and couldn't contain myself."
Fiona let out a sigh of relief, grateful that her secret hadn't been revealed. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment, though. A part of her had hoped for someone to share in her embarrassment, to bond over their mutual love of farts.
The other person cleared their throat. "Well, um, thanks for your help," they said, backing away slowly. "I'll just be on my way now."
As they left the room, Fiona returned to her studies, feeling a mixture of relief and disappointment. She couldn't help but wonder if she'd ever find someone who understood her fondness for farts, someone who wouldn't judge her for being so gassy.
