When Emilio and his girlfriend, Sofia, decided to play a game of who could fart the loudest and longest, they had no idea it would eventually lead to an unusual obsession. They both found the idea of a harmless competition amusing, so they started timing each other's farts using an app on their phones. Each time one of them let out a loud one, they would high-five each other, adding to the excitement of the game.
As the days passed, Emilio noticed that Sofia had become more interested in timing his farts than engaging in the game itself. She would often interrupt their conversations or activities to check on the duration and intensity of his farts. At first, he found it amusing but soon realized she had developed a strange fascination with his flatulence.
One day, while they were watching TV, Sofia got up suddenly and walked into the kitchen. Puzzled, Emilio followed her only to find her standing by the trash can, her phone in hand. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"I just wanted to see how long your fart lasted," she replied nonchalantly before returning to the living room.
Emilio was taken aback by this response and couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable. He tried to bring up the topic of their original game, but Sofia seemed more interested in discussing the smell and sound of his farts. It soon became clear that their innocent game had evolved into something else entirely.
Despite his growing unease, Emilio indulged Sofia's curiosity, hoping she would eventually tire of this odd obsession. As time went on, however, it became harder for him to ignore the fact that she was spending an increasing amount of time focusing on his flatulence.
One night, as they were lying in bed, Sofia asked him to let out a big fart so she could time it. Emilio hesitated for a moment before giving in, hoping this would be the last time she asked such a thing. To his dismay, however, Sofia seemed to enjoy it and even asked for another one.
Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, Emilio decided it was time to talk to her about their relationship and how her obsession with his farts was changing things. The following day, after much deliberation, he broached the subject with her.
"Sofia, I love you dearly, but I feel like your fascination with my farts is becoming a problem," he began hesitantly.
She looked at him, taken aback by his words. "I'm sorry, Emilio. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. It's just that..." she trailed off, looking lost.
They sat in silence for a few moments before Emilio decided to take matters into his own hands. "I think it would be best if we took a break from each other for a while," he said, his voice soft but firm.
Sofia nodded, understanding where he was coming from. "I'll miss you, Emilio," she said, her eyes welling up with tears. "But I understand."
And with that, Emilio walked out of their apartment, unsure of what the future held but knowing he had to put an end to their odorous game.
