Kiara Nisei was known in the neighborhood as a hardworking and meticulous maid. She always took pride in her work, ensuring that every corner of her employer's home was spotless. Today was no different. She was headed to the house of her friend, another maid who worked for a wealthy family in the area. They had planned to clean together and share stories over some coffee.
As she walked down the street, Kiara couldn't help but feel a rumble in her stomach. It was an unusual sensation for her, but she chalked it up to the breakfast she had eaten earlier. However, when she reached her friend's house and stepped inside, she immediately noticed something was off. The air was thick with a foul odor that seemed to cling to every surface.
Kiara followed her friend into the kitchen, where they always started their cleaning routine. The smell was even worse there, and she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose in disgust. Her friend looked at her worriedly and apologized for not realizing the house was in such a state. She explained that her employer had been out of town for a few days, leaving her alone to take care of the house.
They decided to get to work right away, opening all the windows to air out the house. Kiara grabbed a bucket of warm water and a sponge, determined to get rid of the stench. As she scrubbed the countertops and floors, she couldn't help but let out small gasps as her stomach rumbled again. It was becoming increasingly uncomfortable, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
Halfway through their cleaning shift, Kiara's friend suddenly stopped and covered her mouth with her hand. She whispered, "Did you just fart?" Kiara blushed and nodded apologetically. She had been trying to hold it in, but the pressure had become too much. They both laughed nervously, neither of them wanting to acknowledge the elephant in the room.
The rest of the day passed in silence, with both maids focusing on their cleaning tasks. As the sun began to set, Kiara finally couldn't hold it any longer. She excused herself, saying she needed to use the bathroom. But instead of going inside, she leaned against the wall outside, letting out a long, loud fart. It was one of the loudest she had ever let out, and the feeling of relief was overwhelming.
When she returned inside, her friend was waiting for her with a look of horror on her face. "Kiara, what happened?" she whispered, her voice shaking. Kiara tried to explain that she had felt so uncomfortable all day, but the words caught in her throat.
As they finished their cleaning and prepared to leave, Kiara couldn't shake the thought that something was wrong. She had always been so careful, never letting a fart slip out in public. But today had been different. Maybe it was just a bad day, or maybe she needed to see a doctor. Whatever the case may be, she knew one thing for sure: she would never forget the farting maid.
